With the weather changing and the fall season coming to an end, it’s time for the most wonderful time of the year in Toledo. The Toledo Zoo Lights Before Christmas is right around the corner and is the place to visit this year. Here is a bit more information on what is taking place at The Lights Before Christmas.

The Lights Before Christmas starts on November 22nd with the annual tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Lights Before Christmas goes all the way until December 31st, so there is plenty of time to visit the wonderful show they put on. The time schedule for The Lights Before Christmas is Sunday through Thursday from 3-8 p.m as well as Friday and Saturday from 3-9 p.m. The Lights are even open to the public on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day too!

The Lights Before Christmas for non-members of the zoo cost $20 for adults, while kids (ages 2-11), and seniors (ages 60+) are $17 for a day pass. Members get unlimited visits Monday through Thursday. Members only get 1 free weekend visit. Concessions are open all throughout the season with featured special Christmas treats and delicious hot chocolate.

The Lights Before Christmas has so many activities to do this year! They have 5 paid activities you can do with your family or friends. The first activity you can do is an Ice Slide that costs $3.00. In this activity, you fly down on a personal or innertubes that fit one or two people! The next activity is a Carousel which is $2.00.  This Carousel is essentially the indoor African animal Carousel decked out in winter and Christmas decorations. The Christmas train runs only on weekends and is $2.00 for the train ride. Another activity is the Arctic Blast for $3.00. This is a snowball launcher where participants try to hit targets. You get 3 blasts per ticket. The last activity is Ice Carving Demo and is held on Thursdays in Decembers at 6 p.m. in the Main Plaza. This activity is free with admission so make sure to check it out! The Zoo also made activity bundles for you to buy. There is a 4-Pass Bundle for $10.00. This bundle always you to ride 4 rides and is available through December 31st. The next bundle is a 7-Pass Bundle at the price of $15.00. This pass allows you to ride 7 rides and it also lasts through December 31st. The last, but certainly not least, is the Wild Pass and costs $25.00 and allows you to ride any ride all day. Unfortunately, this pass is only allowed to be used on the day of purchase.

The Toledo Zoo Lights Before Christmas is one of the best things Toledo puts together.  The zoo uses over one million lights with over 200 illuminated animals spread out across the zoo! The Toledo Zoo included this year the new LED display that guests can move or dance on the Amphitheatre floor and see their silhouettes in lights.  The Toledo Zoo Lights Before Christmas has so much to offer in such a little time, so make sure to check it out before the season ends.
