The international phenomenon from South Korea once again blew up the charts with their newly released English song, is the world going to hold them now? BTS, (Bangtan Boys) a K-Pop group to first make history globally, released a song called “Dynamite.” This is not the first time BTS caught the attention of music lovers, having done it since the debut of their first single, “No More Dream,” in 2013! The attention was a dramatic difference between then and now, but BTS endured the hate and rumors along the way, and it was worth it! BTS turned K-Pop into something huge; an unstoppable growing industry. Their music and messages inspire and reach people of all ages to help them overcome society’s pressure, including depression, anxiety, stress, procrastination and insecurity.
The song “Dynamite,” has a disco-pop beat including the ecstatic and feel good lyrics that lights a smile for everyone. The leader of BTS, RM, revealed the song was a product of the coronavirus pandemic. He stated, “Who would ever think of this pandemic? No meeting, no karaoke, no concerts? Even no walking in the park. So we never expected this song would come fully in English. During the process of making ur album…it just came to us.” The song was not even planned! It wasn’t meant to be attached to the album, it is a single just to assist everyone think positively during something so heartbreaking. Another member of BTS, Suga, described the song to be a burst of energy, love and purity. He felt this song is the most relatable to everyone globally, “This is a situation that everybody else around the world is facing, so we just started to explore what can we do right now, what can we do really good?” BTS used this opportunity to use their talent to create a song to dedicate to the victims of the pandemic.
The cheerful tune not only has the positive glow from just listening to it, but also during the recording process! According to the leader, he admits the recording refinement was just as enthusiastic and they could not hold themselves from releasing this masterpiece, “While recording, we danced along to it a lot … We thought we wanted to share this energy with our fans as quickly as possible and decided to release it early, something we’ve never done before. But we just couldn’t wait.” Their millions of fans were grateful they didn’t wait, the song was delivered at the perfect time!
Aside from this disco song, BTS is widely known for experimenting and trying out new genres with their music. “Dynamite” was their first time releasing a disco related song, and the hype internationally showed that it came out as a success. The roots of the band is Hip-Hop, yet the brand transformed into a music source for all music listeners. After dropping ‘Dynamite,’ on August 21st of 2020, the seven member band won four awards for the song alone! BTS’ progress was accompanied by their fans ARMY (ARMY means Adorable Representative M.C for Youth. It has more than one meaning, it could also mean that the fans will always stand together with BTS and support one another). The band’s songs always had a pull on ARMY’s heart strings, but an all English song hits differently and blows up quicker than a blink of an eye.
