Editor-In-Chief: Hi everyone! My name is Tenley Tuschman and I am the Editor-In-Chief of The Catalyst this year! This is my fourth year writing for the newspaper and my third year as an editor. I’m a senior here at Southview this year. Outside of school, I’m an avid movie-watcher as well as a big fan of music!
News Editor: My name is Xander Gallup and I’m a senior and the News Editor AKA the resident psychopath. I love doing reviews on just about anything: food, movies, music, school hallways, etc. I play trumpet for the band in both marching and concert seasons, write for the creative writing team, and have an unabridged fascination with the universe and space as a whole. I’m also a mythology geek, so that’s 10/10 for the nerd aspect!
Sports Editor: Hi! My name is Chris Laux, and I am the Sports editor for the Catalyst this year. This is my second year writing for the school paper, and my Junior year here at Southview. I play saxophone in the band, am a pitcher on the baseball team, and compete with the writing team. I have a deep passion for environmental issues and an interest in politics. I love listening to music and zoning out. In the future I plan to attend college and find myself in a field that is meaningful and fulfilling!
Opinion/Lifestyle Editor: Hi! My name is Maya Ang. I’m a sophomore, and this is my first year on staff for the Catalyst, where I am currently the opinion/lifestyle editor. I compete on our Speech and Debate team, where my specific event is Lincoln Douglas debate. I’m passionate about music and movies, it doesn’t matter the genre, and I play bass guitar (on occasion). I’m currently interested in going to school for journalism, but who knows!
Feature Editor: Hi! My name is Kyra Klatt, and this year I am the Feature editor for the Catalyst. This is my junior year here at Southview, and my first year on staff for the newspaper. I like to read, listen to music, and watch tv in my free time. I am also involved in set crew for the fall play and spring musical!
Website Editor: Hello! My name is Anna Danzeisen and I’m a junior here at Southview. This is my second year writing for the Catalyst but my first year on staff where I am currently the Website editor. Along with my love for writing, I enjoy riding and brushing my horses as well as dancing at my studio. I also cheer here at SV on the varsity squad and look forward to participating in theater!

HI! My name is Carson Wright and I am currently a junior here at Southview. This is my second year writing for the Catalyst and I love to write sports articles. I am a 3 year football player and I base most of what I do around athletics. Writing for the sports section of the Catalyst has allowed me to combine two of my favorite things, sports and writing. I am very invested in writing and believe that it can be for everyone, no matter what interests you have. Writing can be for anyone and I encourage you to try it!
Hi, My name is Anna Hauptman, I am currently a sophomore here at Southview high school. I am currently involved in Southview theater. While working on the sv newspaper I plan to cover all kinds of stories but I would like to be focused on theater related stories. When I’m not working at my job at Handles Ice Cream, I enjoy shopping, hanging out with my friends, and going to my friends concerts. I also very much enjoy all types of music but mostly 70s-90s. In the future I plan on pursuing journalism or maybe even being involved with filmmaking.
Hi, My name is Taylor Weldele, I am a sophomore at Southview Highscool. I am currently on the dance team and the track team here at Southview. While working on the sv news paper I plan to cover a broad variety of stories, but would enjoy focusing on sports related topics. Outside of school and sports I enjoy baking, hanging out with friends, and traveling. I am looking forward to my first year on the catalyst staff and can’t wait for an amazing year.
Hello, my name is Salem Augsburger (she/they). This is my junior year at Southview and my first year as a Catalyst staff member. Along with writing for the paper, I enjoy creative writing and am excited to continue participating in Just Write Ohio. I am also a painting and astronomy and nature enthusiast.
Hi! My name is Renee Marrow and I’m a sophomore at Southview High School. I’m currently part of the staff for the Southview newspaper. I love to write and indulge my thoughts into my writing. I also love to stay active and participate in sports. In terms of participation, I’m participating in Southview Cheer for both football and basketball season and looking forward to track season this upcoming spring!

I really don’t like to be outside but when I have to I swim. I have two moms who are married to each other. The one who gave birth to me is Amanda and my step mom is Maggie.

Hey, I’m Emma Shepherd, a sophomore at southview. This is my first year on the staff. I’m on the jr varsity cheer team here at southview and do gymnastics for sunrise. When i’m not at cheer or gymnastics I’m probably cooking or working out. I love to cook and bake healthy homemade recipes. Besides that you will find me in my room listening to music, watching tv, crocheting, drawing, or sleeping.
